Enrichment / Clubs

Outcomes Focused, Child Centred

The academy enriches teaching and learning with a wide range of clubs during and after the school day. Participation in clubs is high and we encourage children to develop their interests further.

The academy also offers enrichment to children who have a passion in a particular area, this allows them to find and explore their ‘element’. They have the opportunity to explore their subject at greater depth. Children within the academy also have the opportunity to experience outdoor adventure either off or on site.

Below are the clubs we have on offer during the spring 2020 term:

Breakfast Club

At The Ferns we ensure that no child is too hungry to learn through the provision of a healthy breakfast.

Our school is supported by Greggs Breakfast which ensures that we offer nutritious food to our pupils. We offer cereals, toast and juice everyday with the help and support of Greggs.

Our Breakfast Club runs Monday to Friday 7:30am to 8:45am. Children are provided with a healthy breakfast and enjoy playing and meeting with friends.

If you would like some more information or would like your child to join the breakfast club, please contact Mrs Whitehead at the school office.

The Ferns Primary Academy is a member of the Northern Education Trust.
We constantly focus on standards as we understand outcomes are paramount. Our decision making is driven entirely by what is best for children. By doing this we enhance the life chances of the children and young people in our care.

Children/families entitled to Free School Meals will now receive an electronic voucher instead, from this Friday, 3 April.
