Online Safety Alert (#Momo Challenge)

As you may be aware, The #Momo challenge has recently surfaced, that targets children over WhatsApp, YouTube, Fortnite and now YouTube Kid. It allegedly sends children threats from an anonymous number or associated accounts and forces children to undertake dangerous tasks, up to and including suicide, by threatening them with violence.

Thanks to vigilant staff, we have noticed that pupils have been discussig the #Momo Challenge.

Today, all pupils will be discussing online safety and what to do in the event of witnessing an upsetting video.

We would like to take this opportunity to advise parents and carers about what to do to limit the effect of this disturbing craze:

If you need to speak to a member of staff regarding this, please contact Mr Broadbent, through the school office.
